Casa da Infanta is located in a stunning position on the cliffs of Ferragudo in the Western Algarve. It faces west over the bay of Lagos, towards Sagres and the sunsets. There are magnificent views over the peaceful waters of the Algarve coast, with fishing boats, and with yachts making their way to and from the marina. A sandy beach is 50 metres away just below the property, and can be reached by steep private steps, or by a longer walk through the estate grounds. Ferragudo, 1 km away, is a quiet, charming, waterside village, and a walk along the beach will bring you to some delightful small restaurants where you can get delicious fresh fish grilled on a charcoal brazier. There are many golf courses within a short drive of the property.

Originally the home of the Princess of Portugal, the property remains in the ownership of the Portuguese Royal Family. The interiors have been completely refurbished and updated, yet retain many of the original features, including the antique beds with family coat of arms. There is a total of 9 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and spread over three floors, with a lift service. Lift between floors (lower ground to 1st floor) is included and functioning during High Season only – should it be required on other occasions please request at time of booking. The villa has an internal telephone/fax system with the cost of the calls being logged automatically – a deposit is required paid locally in advance and requests for additional payments maybe be made if usage is high. WIFI internet access available at extra cost. The property can be rented for groups of either up to 10 people (in which case the top floor is closed off) or for up to 19 people. Further amenities include a safe, barbecue, satellite TV (English channels)and hairdryers in all the bathrooms. Other equipment includes two cots and two high chairs.

The main drawing room, with sea view, and a grand piano, also opens to an extensive terrace. There are terraces at all three levels, with views, and a swimming pool (12.5 x 5m) overlooking the sea. Solar panel pool heating is available on request at an additional cost, payable in advance with the rental. A downstairs bar and WC are available from the pool area, which also has a poolside shower. Central heating is also available on request and must be paid in advance of the rental. During the summer, the property enjoys the benefit of cooling winds from the sea. There are also shutters throughout the house which can be adjusted to avoid direct sunlight, keeping the interior cool.

Ground Floor
Entrance hall and cloakroom. Double doors leading to a private chapel. Living room opening onto terrace, which has a retractable sun awning and tables for outside eating, for 16 people. Sitting room with comfortable chairs and CD player. Formal dining room seating 8 at the main table, and a further 8-10 on two circular tables. Well equipped kitchen (elect grill/gas oven/gas hob/microwave/dish washer/fridge-freezer) and breakfast room/pantry, which is ideal for children’s meals. Two double and one twin bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and the others with en-suite bathrooms, sea views and doors leading out to a shared terrace. One further twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and garden/river view. The former garage has a table tennis.

First Floor (FOR FULL CAPACITY RENTALS ONLY)
Twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and garden views. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room, foldaway sofa bed suitable for a child up to 8 years of age, doors to roof terrace. Two further twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom and a small sitting room, sea views and doors out to a shared terrace.
Staff
Resident housekeeper and gardener. The housekeeper may be able to prepare simple meals, if requested in advance, and babysitting is also available on request. A welcome hamper is included in the price.
