Comporta has been a secret holiday favorite of Portugal’s oldest families for a long time and it has slowly also become better known by the international set, including a number of designers such as Christian Louboutin, due mainly to its simple charm and magical landscapes of rice fields and pine forests, thatched cottages and long unspoilt golden sandy beaches. With a hippy chic atmosphere, there are parties galore hosted by several beach clubs as well as many cheap and cheerful typical restaurants, but also horse riding and golf nearby, or dolphin watching on the Sado river estuary.
Ultra modern and elegant this stunning villa totaling 310 sq metres is positioned on top of a sand dune facing west towards the setting sun. It has open plan communal areas for relaxed living and the accommodation is set around a central courtyard, set for outdoor dining. The property also features a lap pool (15 x 2.50m) and furnished sun terrace (also with outdoor shower) on a higher level above the house with distant views of the Arrabida Hills, whilst the main access to the beach is right in front of the villa, with fashionable Praia do Pego a mere 10 minute walk away.
The villa is very suitable for families, although very young children would need to be watched, due to some unprotected drops from exterior terraces and staircases (but onto sand dunes). Amenities include cable TV, DVD, I-Pod docking station and wi-fi internet. There is a barbecue available, and toys for children. Underfloor heating is included for winter rentals. Changeover day is flexible, but rentals are for a minimum of one week.
