Slopeside Après Vous is a striking log lodge, nested next to the Après Vous lift with its back to the mountains and Teton Village dropping away in front of it like a staircase. The wide front steps of Slopeside Après Vous climb from the heated driveway to the front door, which in turn opens to a stately foyer, spanned by an interior bridge that connects two upstairs wings of the lodge. A group of soft, camel-colored sofas and armchairs face a massive stone fireplace that soars 30 feet to the ceiling.
The den and kitchen share a light-filled space; and it is here that people gather morning and evening. The den’s curving leather couch faces both a TV and voluptuous river stone gas fireplace, topped by a hand-carved mantle. Outside the den’s French doors, a double level terrace looks out over the dark green folds of the ski slopes. The kitchen has a large butler pantry, a planning desk, and a stone-topped, wood-panelled island with two sinks. Rustic bar stools stand ready. The more formal dining room is separate from the kitchen but just steps away. Slopeside Après Vous is well stocked with elegant stemware, flatware and pewter-rimmed china.
The master suite is a warm, well-dressed retreat on the main floor. One wall, all of stone, holds a gas fireplace; A deep armchair and a standing lamp wait next to the fire, and just out the double doors is the stone terrace, and beyond, the slopes. Clear morning light floods the room from southeast-facing windows. The master bedroom has a big walk-in closet and a sumptuous bathroom, where peeled tree trunks frame an alcove of windows and a deep, raised soaking tub. There are double sinks, a separate water closet, a curved, glass-block shower with room for two, and a door to the outside.
Slopeside Après Vous has four guest bedrooms; the first is a suite, set above the three-car garage. This suite has private access and egress: perfect for visiting friends or a nanny. There is a living area with a sleeper sofa and chair, a bedroom with a gas fireplace and stunning views through the trees towards the slopes, and a bath with dual vanities, a large soaking tub and views to the forest.
The foyer’s massive log staircase leads to the second floor and the remaining three guest rooms. One is a carpeted suite, with a gas fireplace, wonderful soft seating, a walk-in closet and French doors leading to a generous bath – where a deep soaking tub stands under peaked windows. Across the interior bridge from this suite are two more bedrooms, each with a private bath, each carpeted, charming and deeply comfortable. One has a queen bed under robust log rafters, and the other has two twins.
Slopeside Après Vous is set nearly at the end of its road, so though all of Teton Village lies beneath it – just a quick downhill ski away – there is no traffic. When appetite strikes you can veer off the trails and ski right to the terrace, step out of your boots and come in for lunch by the fire. The lodge is equally inviting in summer – the woods a blaze of green, the air warm and fragrant, Jackson Hole and all its possibilities spread out before you. And for inclement weather there is a home theatre on the bottom level of the house. As with all our Wyoming properties, full concierge services are available to Slopeside Après Vous, including private chefs, guides, instructors and a special Children’s Concierge.
