Catamount is a marvellous house built into a hillside of boulders and bright Western wildflowers, surrounded by trees and the high Wyoming mountains. Its big, panelled front door opens onto a quiet cul-de-sac in Granite Ridge; and from there it is just a short walk to Grand Teton National Park and the Granite Ridge ski lift, or the streets of Teton Village and the Four Seasons hotel.
A thoughtful, attentive owner and a well-known designer have made this a luxurious, hospitable house, as suited for relaxing after a day of skiing as it is for high style entertaining. Full sets of table linens, china, crystal and flatware are at hand, and the dining room will easily seat ten. Catamount’s second-floor kitchen has a big gas stove, Sub Zero fridge, granite countertops and array of gourmet cooking equipment. Beyond the kitchen is a deck with a gas grill for open air cooking.
Just up a staircase from the entryway, there is the Great Room. Back-to-back river stone fireplaces that stretch up to cathedral ceilings divide the room. French doors open to an outdoor living area with a dining table. Next to the dining room, there is a sunroom where the flowered hillside fills the high windows like a painting.
A mudroom with lockers is ready to store boots, skis and snowshoes, and from here the back door opens onto the vast Wyoming wilderness.
Amenities include satellite TV, DVD player, CD player, sauna, table football, air hockey and WIFI internet.
