This lovely, newly built cabin is a union of rich colour and high comfort – a traditional, three-bedroom timber framed house with a peaked roof. Bear Trap is set in a village-like group of houses at the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club, and the views spread out from the quiet streets in all directions – towering mountains, silent forest, a golf course and the vast Wyoming sky. The house is spacious and airy. The rooms are open to each other, and the first floor rises up seamlessly into the second.
Bear Trap’s setting in the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club make it the perfect launching pad for any Wyoming adventure. The Club has an excellent restaurant; and limited tee times are available on the magnificent golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, which spreads out below the Tetons along the banks of the Gros Ventre River. Cottonwoods fringe the edges of the club; moose are frequent visitors here.
Just beyond the small club – ten minutes by car, twenty by bike – is the breathtaking Grand Teton National Park. Here anything is possible, any time of the year: snowmobiling, dog sledding, fishing, and hiking. There is also fabulous cross-country skiing starting at Bear Trap’s back door.

Ground Floor
The kitchen and living room, on the lower level, are divided by a granite-topped breakfast bar and warmed by a high, stacked-stone fireplace. Two intimate and luxurious bedrooms are also on this level, each with their own private bath and understated western décor. The master bathroom has a deep, stone-tiled soaking tub and a separate shower. Outside the living room’s French doors is the wonderful wide deck, which wraps around two sides of the house. The deck is made for outdoor dining or entertaining in the sheltering arms of the mountains.
First Floor
An open staircase leads to the second floor, where a private, sumptuous loft is tucked up under the eaves. This level functions as a second master suite and office, with a stone-tiled bathroom. There is a king-size bed and a sofa; the office has a roomy couch, a flat-screen television, an antique oak desk, and is open to the living room below. |
