Dar 'Rubia has been redesigned and renovated by a well-known French architect, combining oriental and contemporary design to provide a stylish and comfortable retreat. There are three elegant en suite bedrooms on the ground floor and, on the first floor, a magnificent open-plan living-room, kitchen and dining area, overlooking the interior courtyard, with its unusual waterfall fountain and beautiful wooden doors. The house is a showcase of a tasteful traditional Moroccan handicrafts and materials, including exquisite zelliges mosaics from Fès, highly-polished tadelakt walls in colourful hues and intricately hand-painted zouak doors
You can relax on the sofas in the lounge or on the terrace after a day in the souk or the Hamman, and enjoy the home comforts of satellite TV, DVD and music centre. The vast area is fully air-conditioned and there are two magnificent Moroccan-style fireplaces. The dining area fireplace has been specially designed for barbecues should you wish to dine at home.
However, the real heart of the house is the peaceful roof terrace, with its shaded eating area, sun loungers and potted olive trees. This is a magical place to relax and have a drink whilst admiring the stunning views of the distant Atlas Mountains. All have beautiful mosaic shower rooms with wc, (which semi-open onto the bedroom) and air-conditioning and heating. Laundry room with washer/dryer.
First Floor
Stairs to a spacious open-plan living-room with well-fitted kitchen and dining areas, all overlooking the ground-floor interior courtyard. Open fire-places at either end of the room, one is a barbecue. Satellite TV, DVD and CD player.
Large roof terrace with sun beds and a shady sitting area, ideal for breakfast or eating out alfresco. Exceptional views of both the Mamounia gardens and the distant Atlas Mountains.
