Dar Chelita is the perfect retreat to relax in, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet it is still located in the heart of the Medina. At its heart is a peaceful open-air courtyard with a town garden of orange trees, potted plants, fragrant herbs and comfortable seating. This delightful riad is full of character and offers spacious accommodation. It has been restored with great care by a local designer, whose love of both traditional Moroccan architecture and contemporary design is reflected in the chic, cool lines of its style and décor. On the first floor there are two comfortable bedrooms, one with en suite shower room and the other with an adjoining bathroom. There is also a small adjoining studio with its own separate entrance, which is let either independently, or as part of the main house. This first-floor hideaway is stylishly decorated in contemporary style and consists of one central lounge area with sofa bed and a separate bedroom with en suite bathroom.
But the greatest pleasure here is to relax with a drink under the stars on the roof terrace, enjoying your own space, the splendid views and the intoxicating sounds and smells of this ancient part of the Medina. The Jemma el Fna square with is like an open-air theatre and is just a few minutes walk away. By day there are colourful stalls selling fresh orange juice, plants, dried fruit and nuts. By night, it fills up with musicians, snake charmers, storytellers and crowds of onlookers. Minimum stay 3 nights stays (except Christmas/New Year when minimum 5 nights required).
