Casa Fermentini is a beautiful independent farmhouse at the centre of an agricultural estate which produces excellent Chianti Classico wines and extra virgin olive oil, close to Castellina in Chianti. The estate dates from Etruscan times and has been in the family of the current owners for many generations. Its vineyards and olive groves extend over hills and valleys dominating the surrounding countryside. The owner lives nearby in a separate farmhouse and is available to assist guests with itineraries and will organize wine tastings and the purchase of the estate’s wine and olive oil. He also has an arrangement with a local restaurant which will provide meals to the villa on request, provided this is organized well in advance.
The house was restored in 1998, carefully retaining the typical Tuscan features of wood beamed ceilings, cotto floors and whitewashed walls. To the front of the house is a garden with hedges and olive trees, leading to a swimming pool (14 x 7m), also surrounded by olive trees. Behind the house are the wine cellars and a separate parking area for guests. Entrance to the house is through a private courtyard, furnished for dining outdoors. To one side of this and also accessed through the courtyard is a separate apartment, Casa del Guardia, which can sleep 4 – 6 additional guests, and is available to rent with the maiin house for the weeks from 28th July - 18th August, to accommodate up to 19 people in total.
Both the main house and the apartment are very light and spacious, impeccably furnished with several antique pieces, which blend in with the typical Tuscan ambience. Amenities include satellite television, stereo with CD, a baby cot, telephone and fax in the main house, and mosquito nets on the windows. Central heating is charged extra.

Large double bedroom with beautiful wrought-iron bed and en-suite bathroom (shower). Second double bedroom, also with wrought-iron bed and en-suite bathroom (shower). 2 twin bedrooms (beds can be made up as doubles on request), each with en-suite bathroom (shower). An extra bed can be added to the more spacious of the twin bedrooms on request. Large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath), and possibility of adding an extra bed.
