It is just 5 miles to the nearest village, with local market and pizzeria, and offers the perfect base for exploring Catania or Modica, Ragusa, Syracus and many other famous villages. Guests can also take a day trip to Mount Etna. There are beaches nearby and also many very good local restaurants to try as well as a very good golf club. The fish market in Catania is a must! The owners are also able to arrange for guided tours, to pleaces of interest including special private gardens and historic properties.
The villa was restored by curent owners, descendants of the original aristocratic family, who have owned the property for more than 300 years. The interiors have been decorated and furnished in an exceptionally charming rustic-chic style. The individually-decorated rooms have a real Italian character with dark wood against white walls, thick woven rugs, antiques, painted wooden headboards on the beds and embroidered bedcovers. The bedrooms are twins or doubles and the spacious en-suite bathrooms have double-showers or baths, hand-painted tiles, locally-produced natural soaps made from olive oil and plenty of bath and pool towels. The rooms have air-conditioning as well as colonial wooden fans.
Within the gardens is a wonderful infinity pool, lined by palms and surrounded by a terrace where guests can relax, read and sip drinks. There is also a floodlit tennis court within the grounds. The villa has maid service, and alsoa cook with great Mediterranean specialties. He will cater to guests preferences, vegetarian, fish and/or meat, all locally produced or caught, organic and using local suppliers wherever possible.
