Situated just 14 kms to the south of Noto, the Oasi di Vendicari is an internationally recognized nature reserve, attracting hundreds of species of migratory birds every year. As well as seeing typical Mediterranean maquis here in all its splendour, you can also swim in crystal-clear waters, and walk for miles along beaches of fine white sand, including the Cala Mosca, arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. The Val di Noto was declared by UNESCO to be a World Heritage site, and its eight towns, unique examples of Sicilian Baroque town planning and architecture. In the surrounding area are the fascinating natural reserves of Fiume Irminio, Prainito, and Manghisi, the cave necropoli of Pantalica and Castelluccio, and small cultural towns such as Modica e Scicli which together with Noto offer a rich season of cultural events every summer. This wonderful little country house is situated just 500 metres from the beautiful beach at Cala Mosca, a 20 minute walk along a good, unsealed pathway. The walk is particularly lovely in the evening to see the magnificent sunsets. Another larger property, Vendicari Grande, featured separately, and furnished in a similar style is 2 kms away and also available to rent. Inspired by the colours of the Vendicari landscape, the owners of the house have created an interior entirely based around delicate tones of green and white. The large living room has a well equipped kitchen corner and all three bedrooms have a private bathroom. A lawned area and trees surround the house, with plenty of room to relax in the shade, as well as a stone outdoor dining table.
