This stunning property is situated at Cala Levante on the island of Pantelleria. Facing the sea, there are wonderful views of the Arco dell’Elefante rock on one side and the Faraglione on the other. The island of Pantelleria lies in the southern part of the Mediterranean Sea, 50 miles south-west of Sicily. A volcanic island of immense beauty, and steeped in ancient history, there is much to discover here, including the small harbour of Scauri, the fishermen’s village of Gadir, with its hot springs, the natural pools of Punta Spadillo, the black rocks of Punta Framm, ancient tombs, and the bay of Nika with its natural hot springs. The Lago di Venere is a place of great beauty, its blue water and white sand beach contrasting with the black, volcanic rocks and rich vegetation, and reputed to be where Venus used to bathe before meeting her lover, Bacchus. There a number of small villages, including Kamma, Tracino, Mueggen (with ancient ‘dammusi’, typical stone buildings with thick dark walls and white roofs), and Sibà, where local wine, capers, sun dried tomatoes and other local specialities can be purchased. Gastronomic specialities of the island include fish couscous, ravioli with ricotta cheese, pesto pantesco sauce, sweets made with figs, Passito di Pantelleria, a sweet wine, Solimano sparkling wine, capers, grapes and a delicious cheese called ‘Tumma’.
The property comprises 6 separate dammusi, totally restored and connected by terraces and charming pathways, and surrounded by gardens filled with olive trees, palms, acacias, bougainvillea and jasmine vines, oleanders, cactus and other trees. At the heart of the property is the main swimming pool, with large decking surround, and a swimming pool pavilion, with changing room, sitting area and outdoor dining area. In addition, the 800 square metres of terraces throughout the property offer other options for dining and relaxing outdoors.
The separate villas are in three parts: on the first level is the Master Villa, the Swimming Pool Suite and pool area. The second level includes a Day Dream area, with wide terraces with cushions and chairs and a hammock, for relaxing and enjoying drinks while enjoying the views. Also on the second level is the kitchen and dining room villa, the Green Garden Suite and the Elefante Suite. Beyond the second level, and separated from the rest of the property is the very private Acacia Suite. The interiors are very tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout and open up to terraces. Air conditioning or ceiling fans and satellite TV are available in most of the suites.
