This exclusive and luxurious villa is situated high above the tranquil lake of San Ruffino, on the edge of a National Park. There are panoramic views across the Tenna Valley, encompassing the dramatic Sibillini mountain range and the medieval hilltop town of Monte San Martino. There are shops and restaurants in the nearby picturesque town of Amandola, 5 kms away, and the beach resorts of the Adriatic coast can be reached in 45 minutes. The many activities available locally include walking, hiking and exploration of nearby walled medieval hilltop towns, with their examples of Renaissance art and architecture. Just below the property, on San Ruffino Lake, is an organization called Dimensione Naturale which offers horse riding (lessons and trekking), canoeing and a range of health and beauty treatments. In addition, during the summer months, there are many local food and drink festas to be enjoyed.
The villa is set in 15 acres of its own woodlands with a small vineyard and an abundance of mature trees close to the house. Access to the property is via impressive wrought-iron double gates, then a further set of gates, leading down to the beautifully landscaped garden with large floodlit pool (36' x 18'). A covered arched stone portico outside the house, furnished with a frescoed stone table and sumptuous sofas, provides a cool place to relax out of the sun. Beside the pool, guests can sunbathe on comfortable wooden sun beds or shelter from the sun under a wooden loggia with canvas shades. The area also offers a barbecue and serving zone. All around are wonderful scents of lavender, jasmine, thyme, sage and rose.
The interior has been carefully designed with cool, spacious rooms with cream furnishings and natural materials of travertine and solid dark hardwood. There are antiques, original art and sculptures and many individual artefacts which the owner has collected from her travels around the world. The accommodation includes a magnificent and opulent open-plan Penthouse across the entire top floor, with a wet room and sunken Roman style bath.
