Villa Vassena is an elegant family villa located in the beautiful hamlet of Vassena on the shores of Lake Como, just a short drive from Bellagio. Its strategic position right on the lake allows you to enjoy breathtaking views from the comfort of a spacious living area and outside terrace, or while relaxing beside the pool in the privacy of the extensive and beautifully maintained villa grounds. The sensational location of the property makes it a perfect base for exploring the Lake Como area: the villa even has its own landing stage where your private boat can come and pick you up for lake tours, to visit the villages and villas scattered along the shores. The towns and cities of Como, Lecco, Bergamo, Milan and Lugano all lie within 90 minutes by car.
A private driveway takes you directly from the main road, through a remote-controlled gate, into the park that surrounds the villa, with a well maintained lawn shaded by its old trees; there is ample parking space for three cars. The pool (7 x 14m) has a raised sunbathing area equipped with sun loungers, small tables and outdoor shower, and also has a pergola – ideal for outside lunches. The interior of the villa has been restored to a very high standard in a clean, modern style. All rooms have air-conditioning, and heating in winter; they are set out on three floors. The front door leads into the spacious living area, furnished with comfortable armchairs and sofas, and equipped with satellite TV (the house also has an internet connection). There are superb lake views through six glass doors, which open onto the large terrace – a perfect setting for meals during the warm summer months. There is also an interior dining area, also with lake views. The kitchen on this floor is fully equipped with all modern appliances to satisfy even the most discerning gourmet chef. Additional amenities include an American pool billiard table. Below ground level there is a laundry room, with washing machine and dryer, plus a bathroom and two toilets – conveniently located for pool-users. On the first floor there are five bedrooms – three doubles and two singles – and three bathrooms with showers (one bathroom is en-suite to one of the double bedrooms). A cot (and a high chair) is available for guests with a baby. All bedrooms enjoy good views, either over the lake or the park. Three of the bedrooms also have access to large outside terraces.
A staircase leads up to the second floor, which contains a superb penthouse with many windows overlooking the lake, and an extremely wide private terrace for outdoor dining. The penthouse has a private living and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen, one double bedroom, one single bedroom and a bathroom with shower and bathtub – so it can, if desired, provide totally independent accommodation from the rest of the villa.
