Situated at the heart of the beautiful, traditional village of Chora, this villa was originally built in 1542. It is one of the oldest houses of this charming maze of white-washed houses and alleys which make up the village. Chora is one of the most picturesque villages in the Aegean and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The villa can be reached only on foot, as is a 5 minute walk from the entrance of the village, where cars can be parked.
The villa has been renovated with respect for local architecture and traditions, and is furnished with antiques. At the same time, it offers all modern conveniences, including air conditioning and heating, complimentary wi-fi access, wide-screen satellite TV, DVD, CD player, home cinema, iPod docking station, safe deposit boxes and mini-bar, washing machine and dryer. Hairdryers, slippers, bathrobes, beach towels and toiletries are also provided. Accommodation is on two levels, with three bedrooms on the top floor and one bedroom at ground floor level. A wonderful, traditional Patmian patio on the ground floor is furnished with a large marble dining table, sofas and chairs. The main sitting room, dining room and kitchen are on the ground floor, opening to the courtyard, and there is another small sitting area on the top floor, as well as a balcony with steps leading down to the courtyard. In addition, there is a furnished roof terrace right at the very top of the house, accessible via a traditional stairway and hatch with amazing views to the sea and the Monastery of St John.
Guests can use the amenities of the Petra Hotel, which is situated in the nearby village of Grikos, a 5 minute drive away. The hotel can arrange for private dining at the villa, including breakfast supplies and preparation each morning. Guests are also welcome to use the hotel’s swimming pool during their stay. Arrival and departure transfers and help with luggage are included in the rental price.
