This beautiful stone house, converted from an original bergerie sits nestled in the hills, on the Route des Vins de Bandol, 9 kms from the town of Bandol and the coast. The medieval village of La Cadière d’Azur is just 4 kms from the property, and the picturesque fortified village of Le Castellet, 2.5 kms. The surrounding countryside here consists of wooded hillsides, vineyards and olive groves ; lovely rural surroundings, yet proximity to the sea. The well known golf club, Club de Golf de la Frégate is 8 kms away at St Cyr sur Mer.
Entrance to the property is through electric gates up a driveway lined with trees and flowers, and there is garage parking. The grounds of around 2,500m2 incorporate a landscaped garden with lawned areas, trees and flower beds. The garden is on three levels, linked by stone stairs and flower bordered pathways. On the highest (house) level a large staircase leads down to a wooden deck and the large free-form swimming pool (10 x 14m, step access), with a small bridge at one end and alarmed for the safety of young children. A thatched hut by the pool has a bar and stools, and a small stone ‘borie’ has been converted into a pizza oven. There is also a built-in barbecue at the property.
The accommodation consists of the main house (converted bergerie), a guest cottage and a separate spa with large jacuzzi and a relaxation room. The main house is south facing, its heavy shutters opening to views of the garden and large chestnut trees. The very tasteful and comfortably furnished living room, with original beamed celings, tiled floor and original fireplace, opens via French doors to the garden at the upper level, where there is an outdoor dining area. There are three bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom and another separate shower room on the first floor. The guest house, with a further bedroom and shower room, also faces south and is situated to the rear of the main house. Amenities include satellite TV, DVD, CD machine and wi-fi internet access.
