La Grande Garenne is a gorgeous, large, rambling farmhouse, set in 30 acres of gardens, woodland and vineyards. Very private and secluded, the property is accessed by a long drive, yet is only 15 minutes south of Bergerac town centre. During your stay, the region offers much to see and do, including visits to one of the many fabulous chateaux of the Dordogne, shopping in the lively Sunday market in the circular medieval village of Issigeac, or the Thursday market in the square medieval town of Monpazier, having lunch in the beautiful hilltop village of Domme while enjoying the views, a trip on the Dordogne river in one of the replica Gabarre boats used to transport wine to Bordeaux in the 19th Century, golf at either Château des Vigiers or château Les Merles, canoeing, go-karting and an Aqua-park. Further activities which can be arranged locally include private wine tours and tastings, wine courses, horse riding for all ages, painting classes for children, fencing classes, hot-air ballooning and cooking lessons. The extensive grounds include a large paved pool area with a heated pool (13m x 6m) accessed by roman steps. The pool is fenced for the safety of young children. There are plenty of sun-loungers, umbrellas, tables and chairs, as well as a small covered seating area overlooking the pool.There is an additional outdoor dining area covered in tumbling wisteria and vines outside the kitchen, overlooking the pool, and a third small terrace outside the dining room, ideal for pre-dinner drinks. All weather ping-pong, swings, basketball and a football goal are in the garden, and there is a selection of bicycles of varying sizes for guests to use during their stay. A plancha and a separate BBQ are provided for outdoor cooking.
Fully restored to a very high standard, the spacious interiors are furnished with an eclectic mix of beautiful antiques, quirky objets d'art and an enormous collection of artwork. Combined with all the comforts of modern living, this makes for a wonderful family home. The accommodation consists of 6 bedrooms,4 bathrooms,a vaulted ceiling entreé/sejour,very large kitchen, salon-dining room,small library ,laundry room and guest cloakroom. All rooms have french doors leading out into the garden. There is a cot and a high chair at the property and extra ones are available by prior arrangement. Entrée-Séjour, a huge vaulted room the full width of the house with large french doors to the garden on the south side. It has a large fireplace,sofas,a dvd player and a grand piano. The Salon-Dining Room is open-plan with the dining area partially separated, with a large table comfortably seating 12. The salon has sofas, armchairs,television with English channels and an open fireplace. The large open plan kitchen-breakfast room is exceptionally well equipped and has a fan oven, 5 ring gas hob, large fridge, microwave, grill, oven and blender. There is alsos a large table, drinks corner and dresser. Laundry room with washing machine, dryer and second fridge/freezer. Guest WC.

This would be shared by Monet and Watteau, and has a bath, large separate shower, basin, bidet and WC.
There is a small ante-room/library that has the staircase to Watteau and leads through to access bathroom 4 and Monet.
All bedrooms are south facing with french doors leading to the garden. They are furnished with crisp, white bed-linen and equipped with hairdryers. Fluffy white towels are provided for all guests for indoor use and pool towels are also provided.
