This delightful Château is situated in the Aveyron region, near the beautiful town of Villefranche-de-Rouergue. The nearest village, Montbazens, with a good selection of shops, cafés, restaurants, as well as a Wednesday market, is just 1.5 kms away. The village also has tennis courts and bicycle hire available. Other places of interest nearby include Figeac, 28 kms away, with its day and night markets, and festivals during the summer months, and also the majestic viaduct at Millau. A variety of activities are available close to hand, including horseriding at Asprières, swimming, fishing and canoeing in the Lot and Aveyron Rivers, and golf at Villefranche–de-Rouergue (9 holes) and Ouet-le-Château (18 holes). The nearest airport is Rodez (35km) which is served by Ryanair from Stansted. Toulouse is 157 km away, and is served by a number of airlines. The beautifully preserved Château dates from the 13th Century and has been sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard by the current owners. It is surrounded by its own exquisite grounds of three hectares, enclosed by mature hedging, set on a secluded plateau, with views over the dramatic countryside. It offers total peace and tranquillity in exceptional surroundings. Within the grounds there is a large swimming pool, ample sun loungers, an outdoor shower, and facilities for badminton, croquet and boules. There is also an outdoor dining area with barbecue. The very tasteful accommodation is both exceptionally spacious and comfortable, offering a wonderful base for both families and groups of friends. The many amenities include satellite TV, video, DVD, CD player, telephone and internet connection (on request). Two of the five bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is a third separate bathroom. A baby cot and high chair can also be provided on request. The owners live in the house next door to the Château. They completely respect the privacy of guests staying in the Château, but are available to assist with local information, extra requirements, or should you have a problem. The property is available to rent from the mid-May until mid-September.
