Villa Rosemarine is an impressive, traditional, south-facing villa situated right on the edge of the Adriatic Sea, in the east of the unspoilt island of Brac. The largest of the central Dalmatian group of islands, Brac offers a rich cultural and historic heritage, dating back to pre-historic times, beautiful beaches and bays and delicious fresh gastronomy and wine. Chief occupations here are farming, olive and wine production, fishing and tourism. The nearest fishing village of Sumartin, just five minutes drive from the property, has a bakery, supermarket, three restaurants and a number of cafés. Situated on the regional road running along the island, there is also a ferry port with connections to the more sophisticated town of Makarska, half an hour away, known for its stunning architecture, designer shops and fine restaurants. The village of Selca is also within a five minute drive of the property, with its beautiful architecture, small shops, cafés and restaurants, and home to the first monument dedicated to the Russian writer, Tolstoy, dating from 1911. Being right on the Adriatic sea the villa lends itself to many activities such as water skiing, scuba diving, fishing and sailing, all of which can be arranged by the villa manager.
Situated on a headland, the villa sits in a quiet and private location offering peace and tranquillity, and is surrounded by a lovely garden with pines, palm trees, bougainvillea, rosemary and geraniums. Built of Brac stone, the accommodation is on three levels, all opening to terraces with sea views. The entire villa has recently been entirely renovated throughout to the highest of standards, with limed oak and stone flooring, Juliet balconies, new bathrooms, kitchen and furniture. The main kitchen and dining room is at ground floor level, and open to a covered terrace with outdoor dining and living areas. From here, there are five steps, leading to another set of terraces, one of which has a Jacuzzi, and the other, a hammock. There is a large day bed here as well, perfect for relaxing with a book. From here you can access the Adriatic sea, from steps which lead right into the crystal water. There is also a buoy available to tie up a boat, which can be arranged by the staff at the villa. The property is perfect for fishing fans who can fish from the jetty.
Entrance to the villa is from the middle level, where there are three bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as the media room, with satellite plasma TV, and three terraces (one with table tennis). The top floor of the villa is the penthouse which has two bedrooms and two bathroom, and also a kitchenette and sitting room with satellite TV, DVD player and collection of DVDs. There are also two terraces at this level. On the ground floor there is one large bedroom (also with day bed and satellite TV) and one bathroom. The main kitchen and dining room are also on this level (full cooking can be arranged by the villa manager), as well as the main covered dining terrace. Further amenities include air conditioning in all bedrooms and wi-fi internet access. Definitely a place for peace and relaxation, this property is ideal for a family holiday or for a group of friends, and because of the variety of activities available in the area, it is suitable for most age groups.
